Alasdair Percy, of Buchan Percy Properties, is seeking development application (DA) approval from the council for the property at 274 Anson Street.

The DA currently on display at the council offices states that a six-bay sealed car park would be built at the rear of the house.

The DA says an access ramp would also be constructed from the car park to the building while a free-standing sign would also be installed.

“The subject site is located within the R1 General Residential [area],” it said.

“The proposed medical centre is permitted [within that zoning].

“The likely hours of operation are Monday-Friday 8am-7pm and Saturday to Sunday 9am-5pm.”

The site is near the former Orange Base Hospital site and there are other medical and health facilities in the area.

The DA argues that the development would not create excess noise, traffic disruption or increase demand for local parking spots.

“While there may be four consulting rooms it is highly [unlikely] that each consulting room will be utilised at the same time.

“It is more likely there will be 2-3 practitioners operating at any one time, accordingly six spaces at the rear is considered sufficient for the proposal.”

The property, on a 750 square metre block, was sold on February 10.

The DA is on public exhibition until 5pm on Friday May 11 and public submissions about the proposal can be made until that time.
