Orange RSL sub-branch president Lindsay Wright was particularly happy with the turnout given the occasion fell in the middle of the school holidays.
“It was absolutely magic,” he said.

Mr Wright said he was heartened by the crowds lining Summer Street, estimated to be up to 12 people deep in parts.
Orange Public School student Ella Paddy-Johnes was part of the march and also helped her mother, Belinda, lay a wreath for her grandfather John Finnerty, who was a former serviceman and died two years ago.
“I feel like he would have been proud of me,” she said.
