The Leading Seaman was at the Anzac Day breakfast at Orange Ex-Services’ Club on Wednesday morning, joining others who had attended the Dawn Service at Robertson Park’s Cenotaph.
She served in Bahrain for seven months with Operation Slipper and Operation Manitou, which were part of border protection and security measures.
“When you see all the rescues we do or catching the drug hauls, there’s quite a bit of pride in that,” she said.

Tony Wilson brought his grandsons Hayden, Archie and Lincoln Buesnel to the Dawn Service and breakfast as part of a seven-year tradition to honour his grandfathers Walter Cecil and John Farromond, who both served in World War II.
“We want to ensure the spirit lives on,” he said.
It was also a family affair for Leon and Zach Cheney – Leon carried his RAAF medals from peacekeeping missions in Singapore and Eqypt, while Zach carried his grandfather Percy Collison’s medals from WWII.
“We were sitting in a cafe in Jerusalem and a bomb went off behind us, so we were lucky to get away with it,” Leon said.
