Orange Blood Donor Centre is short of what is needed, with Thursday of particular concern.
Nurse Deborah Housley said despite Wednesday’s public holiday, it is vital these appointments are filled to ensure blood supplies are maintained.
“People still need blood, it never stops,” said Ms Housley.
“It’s very important to come in and have a donation this week.”
Kevin Townsend donated at the Kite Street centre before breakfast on Tuesday morning.
“My father in-law, Jack Green, died of Alzheimer's disease – I donate plasma to help researchers find new ways to treat the disease,” he said.
