Miss Knight was the only entrant to arrive at Saturday’s interview round with three judges and said she was passionate about encouraging young people to get involved in their communities.
“There’s just a sense of belonging, everybody wants to be part of something,” she said.
“I feel as though everyone gets too involved in their phones.”
The 22-year-old entered after a friend at the Springside Rural Fire Brigade told her about it – she spends a fair amount of time with the brigade through her father, Paul.
She is also no stranger to Orange Show, having won a vegetable section for her homegrown rhubarb last year.
The judges were The Land editor Andrew Norris and Molong Show Society members Kate Redfern and Ian Cassell.
Miss Knight was quizzed on her community and Orange Show involvement, as well as her agricultural, political and general knowledge.
She will represent Orange at the zone six final in Young next March.
