After initial estimates of November, it is expected to be up and running by June next year.
Developed by Saran Engineers and Managers, the property will feature 44 apartments capable of being split into 77 including studios and one, two and three-bedroom offerings, as well as a gym, conference room and gym.
Quest Apartment Hotels growth general manager James Shields said he was excited to see construction in progress.
"Regional NSW is a key component of our growth strategy,” he said.
“We see significant opportunity with the regions diverse economy, in particular, the mining, government and tourism industries.”
Mr Shields said there had not been any challenges with the build so far.
“As far as Quest is aware the work is on schedule,” he said.
Orange mayor Reg Kidd was on site for the start of construction, joined by Saran Engineers and Managers principle Jim Saran and project manager Peter Archer.
Expressions of interest for a franchisee to run the Quest Orange property are still open, but are due to close soon.
