The CUP Rural and Regional Sports Development Program (round one) is now open to community and sporting organisations and schools.
Grants of up to $1000 are available to support young rural sportspeople and their teams, with a total of $20,000 to be shared by CSU’s campus communities.
In previous years, grants have made a real difference to young sportspeaople.
In 2017, the CUP sports development program helped a talented young Orange football player compete at elite youth level, provided aquatic equipment to support a high school learn-to-swim program and assisted students from another high school to participate in regional athletics competitions.
Orange’s Waratahs Cricket Club put their grant towards the purchase of junior team shirts and cricket balls, reporting that ‘without this assistance cricket would be out of reach for some of our players’.
Online applications are now open for the 2018 CUP Rural and Regional Sports Development Program.
Round one applications close on June 1, 2018.
The CUP Rural and Regional Indigenous Community Engagement Program will follow, opening on 14 May 14.
Over the year, grants will be available in five different categories: CUP Head of Campus Small Grants, CUP Rural and Regional Arts and Culture Program, CUP Rural and Regional Education Development Program, CUP Rural and Regional Indigenous Community Engagement Program and CUP Rural and Regional Sports Development Program.
