TWO kilometres of the Orange to Carcoar pipeline remains to be checked following vandalism in July.
According to Orange City Council, of the 10 kilometres of effluent pipeline vandalised, eight kilometres of it has been fully repaired.
The project has reached the pre-commissioning stage and once complete, testing will start to demonstrate the pipeline will deliver water as designed.
Once complete, the pipeline will be able to take potable water between the Icely Road water treatment plant and Carcoar Dam in the event of a water shortage.
It would also supply water to Spring Hill, Lucknow and Orange Airport.
The pipeline, built in partnership between the council and Central Tablelands Water, has been under construction since April last year and received $21.21 million in state funding.
