Hobbies: My work is my hobby because I really enjoy it.
What did you want to be when little? A hairdresser.
What other jobs have you had? Most of my career has been in finance.
What training have you done? Business and financial services, beauty and currently completing my hairdressing apprenticeship.
Why did you choose this job? I have always wanted to do hairdressing and beauty but also wanted the opportunity to open a second business with my husband so opening a salon fit perfectly.
What is the best thing about your job? Meeting with old and new clients and it never feels like work.
What is the worst thing about your job? I can’t have my family with me in the salon.
Where do you see yourself in five years? Celebrating Sierra Leone’s fifth birthday.
What advice do you have for anyone considering this job as a career? It’s long hours but worth every minute if you are truly passionate about it.

I've worked consistently in the the media industry since 2006 including the past seven years at the Central Western Daily. Before moving to Orange, I worked as a journalist at weekly newspapers the Beaudesert Times and the Gold Coast Sun in Queensland, as well as the Scone Advocate in the Hunter Valley. I started my career at the Ridge News in Lightning Ridge while I completed my journalism studies remotely at Charles Sturt University in Bathurst.
