However, the Central Western Daily was treated to some very old news this week when a lovely gentleman dropped around a copy of the Orange Advocate from August 9, 1928.
Ads for a travelogue for “a visit to the Old Country” and “WANTED: six good sprawlers and six good laborers” line the pages, while the stories speak of a young girl who asphyxiated after being “accidentally overlain and a heifer which died, with dogs, pigs and cats to eat the carcass and keen over themselves.
In happier news from 1928, Mrs L. S. Edye and her young son have gone to Vaucluse for “an extended holiday” – how lovely.
