I have been nominated by the Orange Branch of the NSW National Party as their candidate for preselection for the seat.
The preselection ballot will be held shortly and I’m hopeful of gaining support to contest the election for the National Party as I sincerely believe in the Nationals core values and that they are the only party to genuinely represent the people of regional and rural NSW.
During the candidate process it was brought to my attention of an error I had made in relation to paperwork pertaining to the previous council elections.
I immediately notified the NSW Electoral Commission and sought legal advice to ascertain that it would not affect either my candidature for preselection or current council position.
Having now received that advice I am satisfied the way is clear for me to contest preselection and if successful to concentrate fully on convincing the electors of Orange to vote for the Nationals in 2019.
