The return of the NRL had the players agog in the Wednesday night mixed squash competition, with this week’s round producing some epic games and performances and some not so good ones too.
Team 6 Clarkstone beat Team 2 Reid with wins for Robyn Chapman, Rhona Baker, Lisa Doherty, Ben Reid, Frank Cavalli and Brad Mckenzie, while the athletic Pat Clarkstone beat the not-so-athletic Chris Grant in four games.
Team 1 Matters beat Team 3 Kidson with wins for Katie Hailes, Craig Hausler, George Eleftheriou, Graham Kidson, Ian Middleton and the mullet-wearing Steve Elliot, while the romantic Jasper Matters hung on to beat Marcus Ronan in five close games.
Team 4 Goes beat Team 5 Tracey with wins for Steve Blackwood, Yvonne Tracey, Robert Ryan, Belinda Thurtell, Rod Bevan and Jodie Wheatley won a marathon.
Craig Wing had the match on his racquet with a match-point lead too, but the resilient Mark Goes dug deep to storm home and win in five.
