One would be hard pressed to have missed the disproportionately high level of lycra in town this weekend.

Saturday and Sunday saw the Orange Velodrome transform into a festival hub for the cycling enthusiast, as part of Bicycle Network’s Newcrest Challenge.

Two wheelers warmed up with a few quiet laps around our streets and cooled down with a few quiet vinos at our vineyards.

Booked out Airbnbs weren’t the only industry to profit, with one local pub benefiting so much from hungry boozers that they sold out of chicken parmas.

A wander down Summer Street on Saturday night confirmed that many of the so-called athletes were probably showing up a little worse-for-wear come Sunday morning.
