This is completely opposite to the original proposal to open up Post Office Lane with shop fronts and entries and keep the heritage appearance.
Why the need to extend into the lane when there are already eateries in the complex that have met the needs of the patrons for many years?
The present proposal would detract from the heritage appearance of the building and create a narrow lane which would be hard to police.
Do we need more eateries in the CBD?
Would this proposal disadvantage the coffee shop presently using the lane without the need of permanent structures by restricting the area they now use?
Would there be room for the van that raises money for local charities?
I consider this proposal a needless land grab and will be lodging a submission against it, and encourage others to do likewise after viewing the drawing of the development.
