Music: Count Us In involved students from across the country singing Different People (Stand Together) to celebrate the benefits of music education in Australian Schools.
Principal Kerrie Basha said all students were involved in the event and it was a wonderful experience.
"There's nothing like the voices of children; we don't listen to them enough," she said.
It is the third year the school has been involved in the nationwide event and 2012 was the best year to date according to Mrs Basha.
Yesterday's song was streamed live on the web with students in Orange being able to watch other students singing the same song.
"It's the first time we've skyped in, it really makes it real with the children," Mrs Basha said.
"Before we've had to tell the children they were a part of it but now they can see it.”
This year's song was a good reflection of the school's motto of standing together with different people from different places.
"It's nice to sing something meaningful," Mrs Basha said.
Accompanying the students was the school's string section, that was trained by the Orange Regional Conservatorium.
Mrs Basha gave praise to teacher Fiona Nell who coordinated
"She's so enthusiastic is contagious," Mrs Basha said.
