Goldseekers Orienteering Club’s Summer Series continues on Friday night with another twilight event, a week after Darren Francis outclassed his rivals in the second meet of the season on the Clover Hill course.

On the long, 20-point scatter course Francis clocked a superb time of 32.59 to blitz the competition, he was well ahead of his rivals in Stephen Nugent (43.34) and Mitch Allen (50.09), incredible beating them both by more than 10 minutes.
Portia Hawke won the 15-point scatter in 29.18, just one second ahead of her sister Freya while newcomer Sarah Moser triumphed in the 10-point scatter course, clocking 23.31 to edge out Carmen King. Another newcomer, Belinda Lewis, was fifth on that course.
The youngsters thrived in the maze, it’s five variations once again proved very popular.
The third Summer Series event is on Friday at 6pm, starting at Kooronga Avenue’s Riawena Oval.
