Ex-Services’ tennis complex is back in full swing, with coaching returning every afternoon and Hot Shots for the beginners resuming every Friday.

The over eight-year-olds run from 3.30-4.40pm every Friday afternoon with the younger kids – from three to seven – after that, from 4.30-5.30pm.
If any parent would like to know more about Hot Shots, it is a great and fun way for children to be introduced to tennis.

Both schools have resumed for the year with James Sheahan Catholic High and Kinross using the courts twice and three times a week, respectively.
Social tennis continues, with the ladies meeting every Thursday from 8.30 to 11.30am and the mixed on Sunday from 1.30pm onward. Mixed Social group
The club welcomes all new players to come along to either or both these friendly days.
There was a good roll up of ladies on Thursday who all enjoyed the catch up over tennis and a cuppa.
Last Sunday was a very busy day indeed, with not only the social tennis but also court hires to the public – the phone rang hot from 10am right through until 6pm.
All courts were filled to the brim, with the occasional queuing to secure a court.
The committee was absolutely chuffed to see the complex so full and it proves that the game of tennis is still very popular for everyone.
The second round of the Hump Day Night Comp was contested on Wednesday night.
Players enjoyed the tennis and there were many comments about the perfect, balmy night.
It’s great to be out under the stars enjoying what we love.
The ladies winner was Julia Learson on 12 games/two sets and Nick Powell won the men’s with 18/two.
There will be a committee meeting in the Clubhouse this Sunday at noon, with a full agenda.
Committee members who cannot attend please notify the secretary or another committee member.
The mixed social starts after the meeting at 1.30pm, with Brett Campbell on duty.
The lucky winner of the ‘free hit’ voucher last week was Mary Baxter.
The courts are available during the week and on weekends for any player wishing to hire, just call the clubhouse in advance on 6362 8020 to secure a court.
