An im-paw-sible tail of mistaken identity for reporter

It seemed like it would be a normal Wednesday morning at the Central Western Daily.

However, it proved to be slightly stranger than normal after one of our reporters received a phone call from the RSPCA in Orange.

The reason for the call was the RSPCA had picked up an 11-year-old Labrador-Dalmation mix, and our reporter’s direct phone line was listed as the contact on the microchip.

The reporter doesn’t own a dog.

There is a happy ending to the story – the stray has found a forever home with a foster family.

But having now googled pictures of Labrador-Dalmation crosses, our reporter is regretting saying a potential new best friend wasn’t theirs.
