Women’s Health Orange has been started by Orange gynecologists and obstetricians Dr Sachin Kostasthane and Dr Miguel Marquez.

They will be assisted by Dr Kostasthane’s wife and GP Dr Victoria Best, who has a special interest in women’s health and mental health.

Dr Kostasthane said they wanted to provide a complete range of health services for women in one practice.

To help achieve that they will have the services of physiotherapist Natalie McConachie and a psychologist.

Dr Kostasthane said the practice would also have a midwife and nurse.

“I had this vision of a holistic care centre with everything related to women’s health,” he said.

“Women’s health is not just treating a disease.”

He said he joined forces with Dr Marquez to set up the clinic in a former surgery practice.

“We bought the practice in August and have been renovating for the past two to three months,” he said.

“All our renovations are now completed.”

The practice will be open 9am-5pm Monday to Friday. 

THE historic Eighteen 70 restaurant on March Street is up for sale.

JP Hotels sales manager Trent Auld said the current operators were moving on and the leasehold was now up for sale for $375,000.

He said there had been interest from Sydney and Central Coast people about taking over the business.

Mr Auld said it was highly likely it would continue to operate as a restaurant/bar/cafe business.

“It represents a pretty good opportunity for people coming out of Sydney,” he said.

“It has only had four or five owners in the past 30 years.”

Increasing trading hours from the current 4.5 days, live entertainment, functions, weddings and conferences are potential options for the future leaseholders.

ONE of Orange’s oldest hotels is getting an upgrade.

The footpath outside the The Royal Hotel on the corner of Summer Street and Lords Place will be covered in scaffolding as work begins to improve the awning above.

Hotel manager Tony McClure said it was unclear how long the work would take.

“We’re just upgrading it,” Mr McClure said.
