Entries for the poetry competition close on February 7 and competition organiser Len Banks said about 10 have come in so far.
He said all the entries are from out of town and he wants to see Orange residents and children also take part.
“We’ve had local entries in the past so I’m sure they are out there,” Mr Banks said.
Organised by the Rotary Club of Orange, the competition will be held at the Orange Civic Theatre on February 17 as part of the annual Banjo Paterson Festival.
“There is no restriction on the topic or the style of poetry; as long as it can safely be described as good family entertainment and it is your original work. We welcome novices and experienced poets,” Mr Banks said.
Rules and entry forms are available at www.rotarycluboforange.org.au.
