A MAN will face court in the new year for possessing more than a gram of an illegal drug and resisting police on the weekend.

Officers from the Canobolas Local Area Command (LAC) on Sunday charged a 32-year-old man with possess a prohibited drug and resisting/hindering police in the execution of their duty.
Police say they searched the man and located 1.1 grams of MDMA – or methylenedioxymethamphetamine, commonly known as ecstasy – on his person.
He was issued with a court attendance notice and will appear before Orange Local Court on January 15, 2018.
In other police matters in the Canobolas LAC:
- A 19-year-old man was on Saturday charged with three counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm. Police say the man assaulted a 21-year-old woman in a domestic violence-related incident. He was issued with a court attendance notice and will appear before Orange Local Court on December 14.
- A 19-year-old man was on Sunday charged with mid-range drink driving. It is alleged the man was driving a vehicle when it was stopped by police on Bathurst Road. Police say the man failed a roadside breath test and later provided a breath analysis reading of 0.102. He was issued with a court attendance notice and will appear before Orange Local Court on December 15.
- A malicious damage occurred on Maxwell Avenue at about 2pm on Saturday. A window was smashed at the location.
- An unrelated malicious damage occurred on Forest Road at about 2.45am on Monday. A glass door was damaged at the location.
