The Jazz Christmas Cabaret will have performances from the Big Phat Jazz Band and the Junior Jazz Band, which will play big band classics, and – because it’s that time of year! – some Christmas carols.
Similar to previous years, attendees can book a table, order from the restaurant and have dinner and a show.
The Farewell Proms concert is a variety concert from over half-a-dozen bands and ensembles to farewell the year in style.
Orange Regional Conservatorium music director Donna Riles said the two shows were the “culmination of a wonderful year”.
“They help wind up the year in a delightful way” she said.
Mrs Riles said the Farewell Proms show in particular was a good celebration for the roughly 150 performers who will take part.
“It’s a big performance to celebrate the music they’ve worked on… It’s our chance to farewell each other for the year.”
Mrs Riles said the year had been and excellent one, and her personal highlights were the Australian String Quartet playing Slava Grigoryan in May, and Conservatorium’s “biggest ever internal event”, the Mozart Requiem performed by the reformed Orange Symphony Orchestra in November.
