Witnesses told the Central Western Daily a group of eight people, aged about 20 years old, spent more than half an hour arguing and shouting on Anson Street.
A witnesses said they saw a man and a woman arguing before the woman slapped the man, and he retaliated by punching her before fleeing.
Canobolas Local Area Command Chief Inspector Dave Harvey said police attended the incident at 11.45am and issued move-on directions, which most complied with.
However, the 21-year-old man didn’t comply and was present when a second fight broke out in another group 30 minutes later.
He was charged with failure to comply with police orders and ‘armed with intent’, as he had an arrow.
