Chief executive officer Geoff Donaghy and cellar manager William Wilson visited Swinging Bridge Wines, Philip Shaw Wines, Small Acres Cyder and Printhie Wines  on Friday.

They were also due to attend the Ross Hill Wines and Tom Kime Spice Feast and the Orange Regional Farmers Markets on Saturday before returning to Sydney. 

Mr Wilson, who was part of the Orange Wine Show judging panel earlier in the week, said the experience was also useful in introducing himself to other wines he had not already tasted. 

“We wanted to come out here and talk to the suppliers we already had and look for a couple of new ones,” he said.

“The stories [behind the wine] do not change the impression of the wine itself, but it really helps when you’re selling wine to guests to know the story behind it.”

The convention centre already has Orange wines making up 27 per cent of its wine list. 

“We’re tempted to swap some of the interstate stuff,” Mr Wilson said.
