Mr Brown was on Orange City Council but did not seek re-election this year.
President Mark Madigan expressed his gratitude for those who worked with him while he was in the top job.
“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time in the OBC, it’s been a pleasure seeing it grow, and re-evolve to the slick, quality organisation it is today” Mr Madigan said.
“I’d like to wish the incoming executive well, please look after this organisation as it is imperative to the Orange and region business community, rest assured that you have it in good shape and ready to spring board to the next level under a new executive.”
Daniel Sutton is stepping down as treasurer and welcomed Hayley Barrett to the executive as secretary.
The newly elected board consists of Rhonda Taylor, Nicole Chapman, Kevin McGuire and Shawn Dwyer.
The 2017/18 board welcome local businesses to join the OBC and is seeking sponsorship for the upcoming year, in particular the Banjo Business Awards, which will be held on February, 24.
ON THE MOVE
Holger Loecker has a big move on his hands.
He has 43 tanks and 2500 fish to shift from his Moulder Street home, where his aquarium business has been based for the past six years, to a new shop in Summer Street.
Second Nature Aquariums will be opening in the old Nifty Fifty clothing shop in the first or second week of October.
Mr Loecker said he wanted the business to be more accessible for his customers.
“I have been looking for a shop for two and a half years,” he said.
“Some were too large or I had to do too many renovations.”
He said he had fish ranging from $2.50 neon tetras and white cloud minnows up to the big checkerboard discus which cost $95-$140 each.
Mr Loecker said that apart from selling individual fish he could also sell a complete aquarium for homes and businesses.
He said a 250 litre tank, about 1.2 metres long, with fish, equipment and a cupboard cost about $1600.
The shop will be open Monday-Thursday 1pm-6pm and Friday-Saturday from 10am-6pm.
