The couple, originally from Woy Woy on the central New South Wales coast, were married on September 15, 1967 in Gosford.
The couple moved to Orange just under 30 years ago and “loved” the town.
Mrs McAndrew said “doing things together” was what she looked back on fondly over her 50 years of marriage.
“Doing lots of things together with someone, that’s why you get married,” she said.
Mrs McAndrew also treasured time spent with her two children and five grandchildren.
“Family are the most precious wealth you can have,” she said.
Mr McAndrew said a pledge to Jesus Christ a few years after their marriage helped solidify their commitment.
“We both decided we needed a change, and Jesus was the answer,” he said.
