It was a close contest between the students and representatives from Calare Public School and Nashdale Public School.
The cooking competition was organised by the Rotary Club of Orange as part of Sustainable Living Week.
Each team of four students from years 5 and 6 were given the task of cooking a chicken-based meal and a chick pea-based meal in one hour from a set box of ingredients.
All food was donated by the Agrestic Grocer showing that great meals are made from local food.
The students were judged on their teamwork, organisational skills, food preparation, finished meals and on their answers to questions about managing waste and cooking efficiently.
The food was judges by hospitality and commercial cookery teachers Tammy Nash from Canobolas Rural Technology High School and Merryn Lynch from Orange High School.
