Like many daily walkers who have been attacked by stray dogs, I've been in the habit of carrying a solid stick while out walking for many years.
It's a sad reflection on our society, but in my opinion, most readers - including our city’s rangers - would agree that there's a small minority who should never own a dog.
I hope that the owners of dogs involved in recent attacks on animals receive large fines to remind each of them of their responsibilities as owners of dogs. It's as simple and basic as that.
