They met on Sunday for a staff introduction day ahead of commencing training to work at the La Porchetta Italian food eatery.
Franchisee Julie Campbell said work on site was on track for the restaurant to open in mid-July.
Mrs Campbell said she had received about 100 applications for the various jobs which will total about 30 casual and some full-time positions.
She said that included 17 waitresses, pizza makers, bar staff, kitchen hands, chefs and apprentice chefs.
“All of them are from Orange,” she said.
“It is all underway.
“They will now do training and eventually their RSA [responsible service of alcohol certificate course].”
New waitress Brooke Hassan said it was exciting to get the job.
“I have worked at the Ophir before.
“I am looking forward to meeting new people and helping waitress.”
La Porchetta will be based in the former Roberts Bakery building which is currently being converted.
