CYMS, Wanderers and Kinross Young Guns claimed the Orange District Cricket Association second grade, third grade and Centenary Cup minor premierships, respectively, on Saturday to mark themselves as favourites leading into the finals.

All three sides scored wins in last weekend’s final regular season round, the latter securing back-to-back victories on Saturday and Sunday to head into the finals with a head of steam.
The Young Guns accounted for Kinross Tens easily on Saturdaybefore taking care of Cavaliers comfortably on Sunday – Centenary Cup sides all played on Sunday, making up a missed game from earlier this summer.
After rolling the Tens for 99, Ed Taylor (44) made sure the Young Guns cruised to victory by five wickets before also playing a big hand in Sunday’s win.
While Hugh McIntyre (3-17) was the Young Guns’ best with the ball, Taylor took 3-30 as well as his side restricted Cavaliers to 119.
Oliver Hoskins (50 not out) and Harry May (33 not out) came together at 4-32 in the chase and proceeded to add 90 for the fifth wicket, sealing the six-wicket win.
In a three-team finals series, Young Guns progress straight to the decider. They’ll face the winner of this weekend’s preliminary final, between Cavaliers and the Tens.
Wanderers edged to the third grade minor title courtesy of Saturday’s 54-run win over Waratahs.
The victory pushed the Wanderers to 84 competition points, just two ahead of second-placed CYMS Bourkes, a side that also scored a win on the weekend.
A half-ton from Kurt Gander (50) pushed Wanderers to 127 before Oscar Lovick made his mark on the game with the ball.
Lovick took 5-15 from 5.1 overs, combining with Gav Smith (4-11) beautifully to run through Waratahs. The sky blues made 73.
Wanderers will face the fourth-placed Waratahs again in Saturday’s semi-final, while the Bourkes play Orange City in the other sudden death play-off fixture.
CYMS defeated fourth-finishers Gladstone to ensure they head into this weekend’s second grade rematch with plenty of momentum.
Pat Madden took 3-19 as Gladstone succumbed for 114. Ed Wright then blasted 62 not out to help CYMS over the line with three wickets and 13 overs to spare.
Orange City (9-161) defeated Cavaliers (94) on the back of half centuries from Shaun Churchill (72) and Darren Barrett (54). Those two sides face off again in the other second grade semi-final this weekend.
