Mr Bruce marked his 100th blood donation last week and has potentially saved up to 300 lives.
“I’m very chuffed, very happy, very elated and very proud,” he said.
Mr Bruce said it felt good to know he had helped people.
“You never know where the blood goes,” Mr Bruce said.
“It’s only small, it’s not hard to do, but I think it’s worthwhile.”
Mr Bruce encouraged people to roll up their sleeves and give blood.
“I would say go and do it,” he said.
“The staff here are friendly and encouraging. Saving lives is a good thing.”
Blood donations can save up to three lives.
