The eatery opened at Gateway Crescent in May last year and one of the faces behind the business, Ben Allcock, said it had already outgrown the space.
“We’re busy most of the time and when we’re really busy, there’s a line out the door and people get the sardine in a can feeling,” he said.
“There really is a lot of local support for local businesses and we would like to say thank you because we are blown away.”
He and twin brother David are now refurbishing part of the former Occidental Hotel to include two kitchens, a bar and beer garden and a function room.
Mr Allcock said it was a chef-level takeaway concept where people could get a quick burger and beer and hoped to have the fit-out completed by April.
The Gateway Crescent premises will still be used for the catering and product line side of the business.
Best in the West
The Overlander Indian Restaurant has been named the best Indian in the Central West in the Menulog Restaurant Awards.
Menulog is one the largest websites focused on takeaway dining.
The Overlander was one of 8000 restaurants across Australia considered by the Menulog Restaurant Awards judges.
Moving house
Real estate agency Richardson and Wrench has moved from its premises at 211 Anson Street to upstairs at 124 Summer Street.
Director Greg Toner said the move occurred a week ago after he sold the building the business used to call home and hoped the move would help boost sales.
“It’s got the same profile and similar street frontage,” he said.
“There’s always competition, it’s good competition and that will never change.”
Icon closes
After 28 years in the Orange Arcade, Joy Westcott will close the doors of Arcade Impressions for the final time at the end of February.
Mrs Westcott was asked in 1988 to help change the image of the arcade by opening a new boutique for women.
