After a review, the bank has decided to close their Summer Street branch and is encouraging customers to use Australia Post’s banking services and fee-free ATMs in Orange Central Plaza instead.
The bank has run several information sessions to provide information for customers.
“Our priority is to ensure customers understand the alternative ways of accessing their banking with us in the local area, and to respond to any questions or concerns they may have,” a Suncorp spokeswoman said.
We are committed to educating and supporting customers to use these channels.
“Like all service providers, we regularly review our services, channels and locations and make changes based on customer and community behaviour and demands.
“Over the last few years, we have seen a significant change in the way our customers in Orange and surrounding regions, engage with us.
“Customers are increasingly choosing to use technology to complete their everyday banking and visiting stores for more complex financial needs. The decision to close a physical store is never taken lightly, but we’re finding that fewer customers choose to do their banking at the store.”
