ORANGE CITY MEN
Last weekend the men’s club saw a packed but very exciting weekend.
It all kicked off on Saturday afternoon with the semi-finals of the major fours championship.
In the first match we saw the side of Mario Ruggerio tackle the side of Mick Stevens.
With a close early tussle Ruggerios’ side soon kicked out to a commanding lead through the mid-stage of the match before Stevens’ side put the foot down in the search for shots and a come back win.
But this wasn’t to be the case with Stevens’ side narrowly missing out, letting Ruggerios’ team advance to the grand final.
In the second match, we saw the side of Aeron Harman take on the side of Brad Roberts.
The game was very close the whole way, with both sides playing some impressive shots to pick up the end.
The lead was traded multiple times, keeping both players and spectators on edge.
In the end Roberts’ side just had to hang on for the last end taking a four shot advantage in, with Harmans’ side unable to make up the difference, this allows Roberts’ side to progress to the final.
The final will be played on Saturday, November 19. Our second event for the weekend was Norman’s second presidents day.
All players had a terrific time on the green before moving in for lunch and formalities.
Winners for the day were the Zone 4 presidents side, consisting of David Lang, Greg Campbell and Wal Whiteley.
The runners up, from the same rink were the Presidents side of Richard Hutchinson, Nev Seton and Norman Wilson.
Raffle winners for the day were Brad Roberts and Geoff Burrell.

Parallax Error:
It is very difficult to explain as to what parallax error means when people do not know what looking obliquely also means.
Quite simply parallax error occurs when you use a ruler or tape and try to read the measurement anything but straight above or perpendicular to the marks on the measuring device.
Extrapolate this to looking at a bowls head from some distance away and try to make an accurate judgement as to how many shots you might have is almost impossible.
We would like to acknowledge this week’s sponsor Totally Workwear.
