The Eagles started brilliantly in the form of Justin Parish, who belted a home run with the first hit of the season.
The Phoenix responded by keeping the Eagles second innings short with a rapid three out. However in the third innings the Eagles set themselves free with seven getting over the plate in the form of Karen Gogala, Justin Parish, Chris Maybin, Sue Bennett, Andrew Parish, Cheryl Long and Linda Cousins.
The Phoenix tried to pick up the run rate in the fourth innings but were limited to three over the plate due to some excellent fielding by the Eagles. A scoreless fifth innings ensured victory for the Eagles over the Phoenix.
