The Australian National Field Days may have started life as a machinery event, but there is no doubt it is horsepower of a more traditional kind that draws many visitors each year.

This year’s Horse Expo, located in J Street at the northern end of the site, has attracted a wide range of exhibitors.
A packed daily demonstration program will feature advice on a number of topics.
There will be advice on how to care for a sick horse.
Another topic will also include how to safely handle horses’ hindquarters.
Instructors will also discuss how to gain a soft, safe horse, both on the ground and in the saddle.
Kim Wilde, from Kim Wilde Horsemanship, will conduct demonstrations on how to become a better partner with your horse.
Central West riding instructor Tori Jeffress will be in action.
Jeffress will be demonstrating and explaining a special training process.
The special process allows her and Warmblood Rocco to do dressage-style movements without saddle or bridle.
Vets from Orange Vet Hospital will demonstrate general horse care.
They will discuss what to do when your horse looks unwell.
Kim Wilde and Dianne Luker will also be showing off their Specialised Saddles range. Their presentation will also include demonstrating the adjustable, 3D saddle fitting system.
The ancient art of blacksmithing will also be on show, with Rob Swords from Kilmarnock Forge conducting demonstrations.
New exhibitors for 2016 include Paradise Nutrients from Queensland.
And Jack Mann will be demonstrating a new product – the Hindquarter Strap – for the safe handling of horses’ hindquarters – at various times during the field days.
Other major supporters of the Horse Expo include:

- Kara Kar;
- PBL Horsefloats and Racing Orange.
Red River Rural will be generously setting up and supplying all the yards for the expo, free of charge.
For those who prefer a more exotic riding experience, the team from Oakfield Ranch at Port Stephens will be offering camel rides to visitors throughout the three-day event.
