For Orange Day VIEW (Voices, Interests and Education of Women) Club hostess member Joan Dean, the glitz and glamour is in sight as she prepares to make her modelling debut at the club’s fashion parade on Friday.
“This is my very first time being a fashion model,” she said. “I’m quite excited to be quite honest, it’s something I never ever thought I would be asked to do.”
She will join three of her fellow members (including Maureen Kennett who is pictured above) who will not only parade colourful clothing but club member’s compassion for disadvantaged school students.
Mrs Dean said supporting The Smith Family’s Learning for Life program was a priority for the group, as they found disadvantaged students and gave them some help.
“There are so many disadvantaged students and often they’re so deep in the woodwork no one knows,” she said.
The parade will be held during the club’s monthly meeting at Orange Ex-Services Club at 11.30am for a noon start. Guests are welcome to attend.
