The playground was constructed in October 2002 thanks to the efforts of 1200 members of the Orange community.
Hellosydneykids.com.au described the playground as “one of NSW’s finest”, so OYP saw the need to give it a much-needed paint job.
OYP committee member Alison Bennett said it was important to maintain what was a valuable addition to the city 13 years ago.
“The day is to keep a great service project from a combination of many Rotary clubs fresh and updated,” she said.
“It’s still in good condition, but we want to maintain that good condition because a lot of our young professionals have children that enjoy the facility.”
OYP hold Friday night drinks for any professionals who are keen to connect with others and make a difference in the community.
The group are also involved in community events such as the Relay For Life fundraiser at Waratah sportsground each year.
Mrs Bennett said all were welcome to get involved.
“At the end of the day you don’t have to be young or have a fancy profession,” she said.
“You could just be someone who wants to connect with other like-minded individuals who work.”
OYP will give the Adventure Playground a fresh coat of paint on Sunday, March 13, from 8am to noon.
All are welcome to help, and there will be a barbecue provided.
