The kerbside collection is being held over two Sundays.
Residents living east of Anson Street should put bulky waste out on Sunday, November 8 while residents living west of Anson Street should put bulky waste out on Sunday, November, 15.
It will be last time residents can make use of the bulky-waste collection, as part of their council-provided waste services under the current waste contract.
When the new waste contract starts in April next year, residents will be asked to pay $206 for their bulky waste collection.
Council technical services director Chris Devitt said the change was a response to most residents choosing not to use the bulky waste service.
“At the last bulky waste collection in April, only 17 per cent of households put items out for collection,” Mr Devitt said.
“It seems most people want to take their own bulky waste to the Resource Recovery Centre.”
Mr Devitt said it’s important for residents to put out their bulky waste in the right way.
“Please place your bulky waste neatly next to the edge of the kerb and don’t block the footpath,” Mr Devitt said.
Items must also be of a manageable size for two people to lift safely. The items must weigh a maximum of 30kgs and be no longer than 1.8 metres.
