AS operations at Orange’s Electrolux facility wind down ahead of the planned closure in 2016 it’s as good a time as any to reflect on how much the factory has meant to its workers, their families and the city’s wider community.

Whichever of the three Es you refer to it as - Emmco, Email or Electrolux - chances are the plant by the railway line has in some way touched your life.
Over the course of the next 12 months the Central Western Daily will attempt to tell as many of the stories that have sprung from the factory floor as we can.
This photo of Email’s apprentices from April, 1970 seems like a great place to start.
We are aiming to get in touch with as many of the men in this photo as we can. To do so we need your help. Please take a few minutes to study the (young) faces. If you see a familiar one we’d love to hear from you.
Just post the apprentice’s number (as indicated on the photo), their name and any contact details you have for them in the comments section at the bottom of this story at www.centralwesterndaily.com.au
We will strive to talk to as many of these men as we can and should we reach enough of them we will publish their thoughts and memories from their days on the floor.
We’re sure you’ll agree their stories need to be heard.
