The awards recognise the hard work and dedication of our region’s sport volunteers just in time for National Volunteers Week.
Jarick has served on the ODCA board for more than 10 years, as well as holding positions with Mitchell Cricket Council and its sub-committees.
Most notably, Jarick is being rewarded for his work with the MILO In2Cricket program, which attracts over 50 kids from Orange to Wade Park - the most of any regional centre in Western Zone - to learn and develop their cricketing skills.
Jarick was also one of the driving forces behind the Twenty20 Blast program, which was initiated in Orange last summer.
Another of Orange’s most recognisable sporting figures was honoured with high commendation award, founding member and coach of Orange's Dragons Abreast Dragon Boating Club Pearl Butcher.
Butcher, currently en route to Italy for a regatta, has been the driving force behind the club since its inception.
She coaches the club members, participates in competitions and has a finger in everything the club does.
She also pioneered the club’s junior coaching accreditation, meaning Pinnacle Dragons Abreast is one of just five clubs state-wide with an accreditation to run coaching programs specifically tailored to juniors.
