The Barbarians lost both their games in the annual charity tournament, including a first up loss to eventual champions Villages.

Villages took out the Cup at Waratah Sportsground on Sunday, going through the newly named competition undefeated.

The Bathurst-based side - led by co-captains Jarrod Gafa and Kris Kennedy - swept all before them, defeating a valiant Blackheath Blackcats 10-4 in the final.

Villages kicked off its campaign with a strong 16-nil victory over the Barbarians, relegating the hosts to the bottom half of the draw.

From there, a 4-nil victory over CSU Mungoes was enough to see Villages progress to the final, where the orange and whites put together a strong performance to take the title.

Wallerawang regrouped from a heart-breaking loss to CSU in the opening round to take out the consolation final, defeating Lithgow Giants - the competition’s newest team -12-nil in the decider.

In round one, Wallerawang drew 4-all with the Mungoes, but CSU progressed in the top half of the draw because they opened the scoring.

Wallarawang then handed the Barbarians their second loss of the tournament, thumping the Orange side 26-4 to progress to the consolation decider.

Barbarians had one more chance to notch a victory late in the tournament, but succumbed to the Giants 24-14, with the latter moving to the final as a result.
