Played on a sticky Wade Park wicket, Parramatta batted first but could only muster 109 - a far cry from the 8-206 they piled on South Coast on Wednesday.
In reply North Shore didn’t muck around with Harry Wines pummelling 41 to lead his side to an easy victory.
Mitchell’s golden run came to an end yesterday, succumbing to Central Coast in the third place play-off at Country Club Oval yesterday.
After winning all three of its lead up games but failing to make the final due to a lack of bonus points, Mitchell crumbled with the bat to be bowled out for 81.
Only Sam Hall (18) and Tanvir Singh (17) seriously troubled the scorers, before Central Coast used up just 26 overs chasing the total down to secure third place.
In the most entertaining game of the day, the ACT under 12s and under 13s squared up for fifth place at Jack Brabham (1).
With a fierce rivalry spurring the contest on, and bragging rights at stake, the two teams played out an incredible tie, 103-103.
Batting first the entire under 13 line-up chipped in, with Lachlan Pedley (20) top scoring in the meagre total. Ryan Wunsch was the best of the 12s bowlers, snaring 4-12.
In reply, Tom Keller almost got his side over the line with his innings of 31, but Abdullah Harron made sure his side didn’t lose with a stunning spell netting him 3-5.
The ACT 12s were awarded fifth place thanks to a higher finish on the table prior to the play-off games.
In the other three games played yesterday, Dubbo (121) defeated Penrith (112) at Glenroi Oval to secure seventh position, Illawarra (125) pummelled Wagga Wagga by 40 runs to win ninth place, and Shoalhaven (5-91) defeated South Coast (89) by five wickets.
“The carnival was definitely a success again,” Orange District Junior Cricket Association president Nick Cooper said.
“There was some great cricket played, particularly (yesterday) and on Tuesday night during the Select T20 match, and it’s great to see so many teams continuing to come back.
“Congratulations to North Shore, and to all the other sides for the way they and their support staff conducted themselves.”
