The Carcoar site was one of a string of state government owned assets alongside the Crookwell Wind Farm, the Hume hydro power station, the Burrinjuck hydro power station and the Keepit hydro power station that were sold off for a combined $72.2 million late last month.
Settlement of the transaction was expected to occur before the end of this month, Tauranga-based Trustpower, said.
The Wind Farm was part of Green State Power, a government owned corporation which was formed just over a year ago. Proceeds of the asset sale will be spent on infrastructure, according to NSW Treasurer Andrew Constance.
In a statement, Trustpower said it was "pleased to announce that it has been successful in being selected by the New South Wales Government to purchase certain assets of Green State Power".
"Trustpower believes that these assets will perform well within its existing renewable energy portfolio and that it is well experienced in the operation and maintenance of the type of assets being purchased," the statement said.
"Trustpower expects that in an average year the hydro and wind assets will produce around 270 GWh and in the first full year of Trustpower ownership will contribute around A$8.5 million to Group EBITDAF."
