Around 9.15am on Wednesday, police attended a cemetery on the Mitchell Highway, after a large number of gravestones had been found to be damaged.
There were 66 gravestones damaged, some dating back to 1886. They had been recently restored by a local volunteer group.
An investigation was commenced and on Saturday, two 15-year-old boys and a 14-year-old girl were arrested.
They were taken to Bathurst Police Station.
One 15-year-old boy was charged with two counts of destroy/damage property worth more than $15,000. He received conditional bail to appear at a children’s court.
The other boy and the girl were charged with one count of destroy/damage property worth more than $15,000. They both received conditional bail to appear at a children’s court.
