A wet start to the year has forced events around the state to be cancelled, so riders are keen to get on their bikes.
Some of our club members have been busy attending the NSW State Titles at Dubbo and Port Macquarie.
One Orange family who have been doing extremely well are brothers Campbell and Bailee Williams.
Campbell is currently ranked second in the 65cc 7-9 years class in the state.
In round one at Dubbo, Campbell recorded a third place, then followed it up in round two at Port Macquarie with a second place.
Brother Bailee came ninth at Dubbo and 20th at Port Macquarie in the 9-11 years’ 85cc class.
The brothers also got a chance to cheer on their sister Georgia riding in the nipper class. This is the first time the nippers have been able to participate in state titles.
Josh Corby has also had great results with a fifth place at Dubbo and third at Port Macquarie.
Josh has been competing in the Clubman Open class on a Kx450F supplied by Morris Motorcycles. This is a non-championship class, but he is still competing against the state’s best club riders.
This weekend Josh will be riding in the A grade 450 and Open All Powers classes to get ready for round three state title round at Oakdale, Sydney on July 13.
Joining him again will be the Williams family and Ben Thompson (who was absent from the Port Macquarie round).
A big thank-you to Anthony Corby and Mark Thompson once again for supporting the state titles and volunteering their time and endless weekends. Without the dedication of volunteers, events like these cannot run.
Our Enduro committee held a fantastic five-hour event just recently and are now focusing on their three-hour event to be held Sunday, July 3 at “Echo” Lewis Ponds.
For more information contact Greg at Morris Motorcycles.
This Sunday the second motocross event will start with sign on from 7am to 8.30am, with racing starting just after 9am.
