Students from kindergarten to year 2 are performing pieces to music of a variety of genres, and all pulled together by a script written by Mrs Moon.
Mrs Moon comes up with the concept for the school show every two years, with class teachers coming up with a piece of music to suit the abilities of their young students.
“Helen puts in a huge effort to give these children such wonderful and memorable experiences,” said fellow teacher Robin Dunlop.
“We have heard this might be her last show, but we certainly hope that won’t be the case because she has said that before. We just hold such value to her amazing contribution.”
Fellow teacher Hayley Sturgeon knows all about the fantastic memories the children take away from the school show.
“I was a student here at the school and did shows with Mrs Moon. I’ve never forgotten it,” she said.
Mrs Moon said the children, teachers and school community embraced the show every time it was held.
“This really is a team effort from everyone,” she said.
“The children have been coming in their lunch-hours for the last term and a half and they are so dedicated.
“They get so disappointed if they have to miss a day.”
District schoolchildren will be treated to a performance of the show at the Orange Civic Theatre this morning, with a matinee to be held tomorrow Thursday at 11am and a second show at 7pm.
