ON THE ROADS: Council's planned and completed roadworks

The upgrading of the section of Burrendong Way south of the Council boundary is continuing with pavement works undertaken last week.

A council contractor has established a work site alongside Forest Road to begin construction of a new traffic lights intersection at the entrance to the Bloomfield Hospital Gates and the new aged-care facility.

This week preliminary excuvation will be happening alongside the roadway.

Drivers are urged to drive with caution and follow traffic control signs.

A new asphalt surface was laid on Hill Street at Margaret Street as part of the recent intersection reconstruction.

Heavy rain on Friday has delayed completion of this project, and weather permitting there will be more road sealing this week.

Asphalt was also laid in Cox Avenue to restore the road pavement over recent water main renewal works in the street.

Further asphalt will be put in place in the Woolworths car park this week.

Weather permitting, that work will happen near the Woolworths loading dock on Thursday night, starting from 7pm.

COUNCIL staff have responded to customer requests for maintenance works across the city including pothole patching on Shirralee Road, Burrendong Way, Icely Road, Stephens Place, Ophir Road, Bulgas Road and Berillee Road.

Unsealed road grading was undertaken on Ginns Road.

WORK on the concrete footpath in Coronation Drive continued last week between Pirinari Place and Kooronga Avenue and that work will continue this week.
