Zumba is a style of dance fitness that fuses Latin American dance moves with aerobic elements, and has become a global phenomenon in the past decade.
Mr Salomao has been leading Zumba classes since he was 15 years old and has toured across South America and South-East Asia.
“Orange is a real community, they appreciate who you are and what Zumba is all about,” he said.
“They know how to have fun here!”
Studio Fitness co-owner Rachael Crawford said they were very privileged to have Mr Salomao in Orange, with classes sold out on Thursday and Friday.
“We’re really lucky to have him come out and teach a few master classes,” she said.
“We’ve got a good Zumba community here in Orange, so it’s a great opportunity for them to learn from one of the best.”
Mr Salomao’s last workshop at the studio was the senior Zumba master class on Friday morning. Dedicated participant 84 year-old Ruth Wiggins said she really enjoyed Mr Salomao’s energy.
“It’s great fun!” she added.
The message participants took from Mr Salomao’s whirlwind tour was not about trying to be the best dancer in the class, but to have fun and feel good while exercising.
“It doesn’t matter how old you are or what ability you have, I just want you to have fun,” Mr Salomao told the participants.
“Keep doing what you’re doing because you’re amazing.”
