THOUSANDS of Orange residents lined Summer Street on Friday for the 2014 Anzac Day march and commemoration ceremony in Robertson Park.
Despite Anzac Day falling in the school holidays a record number of schoolchildren - more than 1,000 took part in the march and ceremony.
Leading the march this year behind the RSL Colour Party and World War I banner were 18 descendants of World War I ex-service personnel.
In his final Anzac Day service before his retirement next weekend Archdeacon Frank Hetherington delivered the prayers at the main service.
For the first time at a service in Orange the New Zealand national anthem was sung in both Maori and English by Barry Patterson and David Woodside, accompanied by Bev Glover.
Friday night's Retreat at 5.45pm at the Cenotaph will bring to a conclusion the services for this year.
Members of the 1/19th Battalion of the Royal Australian Regiment stationed at Romani Barracks in Orange provided the catafalque party for the ceremony.
